I Heart a Zombie Part One

As I may have noted before, I wrote this story that I plan on submitting to my school's literary magazine about a girl who falls in love with a zombie.

My girlfriend is really into Twilight, so I tried to spoof off of that as much as I could and still have an original story.

Two people have read it besides me, and they both enjoy it. One of them, Antonio said this when he finish reading:
"I'm going to be honest, when you told me the premise, I thought it was going to be really lame. But this is a LOT better than I thought it would be."

Not his exact words, but close enough...

Now! I bring you...

Dear Diary,
Some conflicts at school.

Okay, fine, I admit it. Yes, it's true okay? Are you happy now? So what if I've fallen deeply in love with a member of the living dead. What all the other girls don't realize is the romance! The forbidden love, like Romeo and Juliet... Except in this scenario Romeo wants to devour my flesh and nibble on my internal organs.

Maybe if those other girls took the time to hear my side of the story before they decided to judge me and kick me from their... stupid clicks...

We met in the most perfect way. I was on my way home from school walking along the fence of the city under the usual smog filled sky that kept the sky infinitely in slumber. That day I swore I almost saw the sun again.

I was running my fingers along the tilted squares in the fence just thinking, as the soft collision of metal noise helps my mind wander. I was almost home when I felt a dry brush across my fingertips, much different from the metal. I quickly snapped my hand back as a precaution (it was a reaction brain washed into us during our years at the Northeast Survivor City Elementary School.) I looked to where my hand was, thinking I would find a brain-dead, skin-feasting, rotting corpse trying to get a bite of my hands.

Instead was the exact opposite. Sure he was rotting, but my gray eyes met his glazed over, white, soulless eyes and my bones melted. The fresh animal blood under his lip lit up under the cities security lights. Of course it's less grotesque to think of it as a symbol of his heart reaching out to me. His hungry eyes gazed at me as if I was the most beautiful girl in the world, and for once in my life, I felt like I was.

Join me later in the week for more!!
